Bold & Believe: Our Origins
Welcome to the Bold & Believe blog, a place where I’ll share my musings on work, life, career and growth. First up, the story behind Bold & Believe and why I care so deeply about its mission.
I’ve had the idea - and the domain name - for Bold & Believe for almost two years before finally bringing it to life.
I’ve long believed that transformational growth requires bold moves. Saying yes to the interview. Stepping up to lead a team. Moving countries. Moving cities. Reporting into someone unfamiliar. Jumping out of a plane. Having the baby. Saying yes. The list keeps going. Nothing meaningful or memorable in my life or career ever happened without a willingness to take a risk, be confident and be courageous, even if it was terrifying at the time.
But my almost 20-year career has taught me that this is only half the story. Bold action without belief in yourself, your team, your work, your organisation can slip quickly into something uncomfortable or destabilising. The inflection points in my career didn’t come from being bold alone. They came from the moments when I understood and backed myself fully. When I put myself forward for opportunities I would once have avoided. When I stood in my strengths rather than apologising for my weaknesses. When I truly owned my capability and my capacity for excellence. When I truly believed that “I can and I will”. That’s when new opportunities appeared, keynotes happened, awards followed. Throughout my career, I was fortunate to have managers who recognised and championed my strengths and helped me see and believe in my potential. But I also know how patchy and inconsistent that support can be and how hard it is to make bold moves without a support structure. That insight sits at the heart of my work today. I want to help people build and strengthen their belief muscle so they can see, feel and trust their own potential. From that place, well… anything is possible….
Bold & Believe was created to give leaders the space and support to required to think clearly, feel grounded and move forward with intention. Bold is the courage leadership demands. Believe is the steadiness that lets you trust yourself. Together, they’re a superpower. I’ve lived it. And my mission is to help thousands of others live it too.
